Our client is a FinTech Unicorn with over 95 million users. They are looking to add a Senior Security Engineer to their team. They’re looking for an experienced security professional with a passion for building hard-to-break security applications and a great knowledge of Python and a great understanding of cloud, particularly AWS, and modern tech stacks. 

In this position, you will mentor a team of 7 security engineers and be responsible for their training and development in best practices on secure development whilst delivering Threat Modelling assessments and training. Fundamentally you will be leading the way in the application development using the Python coding language and Django framework. 

If your background is in software engineering and you want to lean into architecting and working with engineering teams to provide early input and hands-on code development to address the application security aspects when building web services and APIs, this role is for you. 

The Role: 

• Help design hard-to-break security applications and services.

• Provide training in secure development practices.

• Take an active role in architectural decisions.

• Deliver Threat Modeling assessments and training.

• Provide engineering teams with the means to identify, quantify and fix potential security flaws.

• Build tooling to support Threat Modeling and other security-driven initiatives.

Technologies / Requirements: 

• Experience with building custom tools, preferably in Python or NodeJS

• Experience in reviewing JavaScript (NodeJS, React) or Java projects

• Experience and understanding of cloud, particularly AWS, and modern tech stacks

• Working proficiency in English
