Job Title: Senior Software Architect

Location: Remote within Europe

Our client is an award-winning language learning app that uses personalised AI-powered avatars to help those learning English. They aim to replicate a private tutor’s personal attention, combined with an app’s affordability (50x cheaper than a tutor) and flexibility.

Although founded in 2022, they have recently achieved global momentum. With 1.2 million active monthly users across 100 countries, they have grown rapidly to almost $20m in annualised revenues in the last 12 months. 

Responsibilities:

- Develop and maintain a unified architecture strategy across mobile, frontend, backend, and AI systems. 

- Make informed decisions on tech stack choices, including microservices and databases. 

- Participate in grooming sessions to ensure technical requirements align with business goals. 

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for seamless implementation of AI tools, LLMs, and RAG pipelines. 

- Promote best practices in software architecture, especially in EdTech and generative AI.

Qualifications:

- 8+ years in software development and architecture, with strong backend expertise using Python.

- Proven experience with microservices and event-driven architectures. 

- Interest in Generative AI and EdTech, with a passion for new technologies. 

- Excellent communication skills in English, able to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders. 

- Startup experience.
