How does a company that builds AI agents build its own software? Italo Vietro, VP of Engineering at Parloa, joins Beyond Vibe Coding to explain. Parloa's contact-center AI runs largely on code produced inside a shared system its engineers call "the kitchen" — a harness built around Claude Code that covers implementation, security scanning, architecture validation, PR review, test generation, and threat modeling. Today around 95% of their code is generated this way.

But Italo's central point is that code generation was never the slowest part of software delivery. Throughput exploded, yet cycle time didn't automatically improve — they ship more, not faster. The gains came from automating the full lifecycle: specification, review (via agents and an LLM judge), and safe deployment through deterministic checks and low-blast-radius rollout.

His sharpest insight is a reality check for leaders. Being "AI-native" is not a lasting differentiator — tools standardize, and everyone eventually gets the same models. The durable edge is a strong engineering system and, above all, hiring the right people: product-minded architects who own intent and risk, and who understand what the AI produced when something breaks.
