Job Title: Director of Engineering - Berlin - EUR 130k-160k

Role Description:

You will join as a Director of Engineering, leading a ~30-person division responsible for a mission-critical product within a large-scale European digital media ecosystem.

Responsibilities:

 * Define and execute the engineering strategy for a major business-critical tribe serving enterprise and distribution partners.

 * Lead and mentor multiple engineering managers across a number of specialised teams.

 * Guide the architectural evolution of distributed systems operating at a continental scale.

 * Collaborate closely with senior product and commercial leadership to align technology with strategic growth objectives.

 * Drive organisational design, hiring strategy and engineering excellence across the tribe.

 * Act as a senior technical leader with substantial autonomy and ownership.

Qualifications:

 * Background in large-scale digital media ecosystems.

 * Strong understanding of distributed architectures, reliability engineering and performance optimisation.

 * Proven leadership experience within complex engineering organisations.

 * Experience managing managers or overseeing multiple teams is highly valued.

 * Strategic mindset combined with strong technical credibility.

 * Familiarity with backend ecosystems and large-scale infrastructure.

 * Comfortable operating in high-visibility, business-critical environments.
