Engineering Manager

Location: Berlin (Hybrid)

Our client is a key player in the rapidly growing Open Banking industry, which is projected to exceed $130 billion by 2032, growing at over 22% CAGR.

By leveraging open banking, they’ve built a seamless payments network operating in 20+ countries across Europe, with top-tier clients such as Mastercard, HSBC, and Square. With €50 million in Series A funding secured in June 2022, they’re continuing to grow and they are looking for a hands-on Engineering Manager to lead their talented team.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead, architect, and build cutting-edge payment solutions using Java, Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, Terraform, AWS, while staying hands-on with development.

- Own the full development lifecycle, driving scalability, security, and performance for complex, real-time financial systems.

- Collaborate with product teams and leadership to transform business needs into innovative technical solutions that shape the future of payments.

- Mentor and grow your team, ensuring high performance and fostering a collaborative, excellence-driven engineering culture.

- Solve technical challenges using modern tools such as PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, Terraform, AWS, and more.

- Work closely with senior engineers and fintech giants to continuously improve their platform and develop new, customer-centric features.

- Ensure systems remain reliable, scalable, and secure while driving best practices in architecture and development.
